Appearance

L'rahn is a Miqo'te who stands at quite an average height, if not a tad short compared to most races or some of his kind. His skin is slightly tan, if not paled from many hours spent in scholarly study or under an artificial sun. His form is quite athletic due to the activity in his job if not lacking a bit of muscle, but overall he's well proportioned. He has quite a soft face, which grants him a youthful appearance that he shares with many Miqo'te. Above his dark Miqo'te markings, his green eyes stand out beneath an emotive brow, finding it hard to stop them from emoting for him. His tail is fluffed and long, his ears pointed and curved, complimented with a well appointed mane of brown hair with strawberry blonde highlights that are somehow natural.Overall, L'rahn cuts an approachable if not fetching figure, as strong or shrinking as he needs to be. Often wearing reserved clothing such as coats and jumpers, he has quite the scholarly visage if you ever did see one.

Background

Pre-Sharlayan:L'rahn's father, L'baht Nunh, was an L Tribe Miqo'te who struck out on his own to found the L'bahts' Luxuries caravan rather than challenge the tribal leader. He fell in love with L'rahn's mother, L'ahrah a sorceress who had followed him from the tribe, and eventually had L'rahn and his sister within years of each other. L'rahn was born somewhere in Thanalan, though where is unknown, and his first years were happy. Unfortunately, in Thanalan his Nunh hired advisors with poisonous tongues, who played on his paranoia, and got free reign to bully and abuse L'rahn, turning him into a shell of the young and inquisitive boy he once was.L'rahn's mother eventually caught wind of the full extent of what L'baht was up to owing to a Sharlayan gleaner learning of their schemes in a night of loose tongues and heavy drink. Yet in her escape, even though she fended him off, L'bahts parting shots left L'ahrah egregiously wounded. In a twist of fate the Gleaner by the name of Dorric Mystersylsyn saved L'ahrah and her children, taking them to the safety of far away Sharlayan.The Studium:After arriving in Sharlayan, L'ahrah soon fell in love with her savior and married into the Mystersylsyn family. Despite their arrival being a major breach in protocol, the Mystersylsyn family covered for Dorric, and as his step-children, L'rahn and L'rhyne were enrolled in the Studium. Although he was still haunted by his early years, L'rahn was eventually brought out of his shell by the wonder of Sharlayan and came to study Aetherology. Despite his reserved nature, he did well, and found peace.Aetherology and Nym:After graduating the Studium, L'rahn was quickly hired as an aether based solutions assessor as part of the sacred duty of Sharlayan. He worked on various troubleshooting projects in secrecy, and once his duty had been seen through, he joined the aether solutions team properly. In so doing, he also became an aetherology researcher at the Studium, splitting his time between research projects and his work as an assessor in Labyrinthos.Recently, he has embarked on writing a research thesis driven by his fascination over the Ancient City of Nym and their mysterious scholars. Despite his apprehensions and the shadows of the past, his inquisitiveness is insatiable. Now he hopes to see the world, and find those who will offer him a hand of love or friendship just as he would offer his to them.

- L'rahn is a member of the Aetherology department at the Studium, you may be a colleague.
- He works in Labyrinthos as an aether assessor regularly, if you need help with an aether based problem, seek him out!
- He graduated the Studium a few years ago, you might have met him there or been in his classes.
- L'rahn has frequented the Arcanists guild in Limsa Lominsa at times, you might have seen him around there.
- He's been working on studies of the Nym and the work of their scholars, if you're interested as well you can seek him out.
- People who may have met L'rahn as a child or seen his plight back in Thanalan are welcome, but please discuss with me first.
- You could also know of his adoptive family, the Mystersylsyns. They work in various parts of Sharlayan society, and may have spoken of L'rahn at some point beyond his arrival with his mother and sister being a topic of gossip.

- I am based on Omega on the Chaos Data Center and I am in the BST/GMT time zones.
- I also have commitments to WoW RP amongst other things, but I will always make time for longer plotlines, expeditions or campaigns!
- I have only been playing FFXIV since late Endwalker, before that I played 1.0 when it was around. Apologies and correct me if I stumble on any lore.
- Please do not try to force me into any RP that I signal that I am uncomfortable with and keep interactions decent. While I am ok with mature or dark themes, only I will decide if I want certain things to happen to L'rahn that would cause a major change in his character.
- The same goes for romantic relationships. L'rahn can have trouble opening up, and while he may not make the first move, it's only polite to not try to push your character onto him unless you want hilarious or upsetting results!
- Any hate speech towards myself or others won't be tolerated and will result in being blocked. We should be making RP, not war.

- L'rahn is a pescatarian, he gets a poorly tummy off eating meat.
- L'rahn is mortally afraid of bugs, he can't ignore them under any circumstances.
- He is a fan of botany and cooking, one of which is woefully ruined by bugs existing.
- His ears wiggle when he eats, a behaviour he's had since he was a Mi-kitten.
- His favourite food is Popoto Pancakes.
- He's a hopeless romantic but absolutely hates being asked about his own love life.
- L'rahn exclusively drinks on special occasions or when he's very fed up. Colleagues claim he's a happy drunk - until he falls asleep on you.
- His name is inconsistently L'rahn Mystia on some public records - an abbreviation conjoining Mystersylsyn with Tia.
- His coats were all given to him by his stepfather.
- His Carbuncle has a unique personality due to a lack of focus when he first summoned it at the Studium, so much so it often takes the role of a house pet.
